On Tuesday evening, reports began surfacing which suggested that Aston Villa’s summer capture of Douglas Luiz from Manchester City had now become more official, as the 21-year-old had now finally been granted a work permit.
£15m Reasons To Like Midfielder Speculation For These Villa Fans – “Err Wow” “Real Talent”
With the deal for the young Brazilian Under 23 international already going through, subject to his work permit status after failing to qualify for one on his move to Manchester City, this is obviously fantastic news for us and whatever the future may hold with the speculated buy back clause, ultimately if he does well for us, it’s win, win.
With the work permit being granted according to outlet Globo this week, the player is now with us and should be finally in training, although he has obviously been working on his fitness away from the club.
I’m not seeing confirmation from Villa directly, but as long as this news is true, we can expect to see his training pics plastered on social media before the end of the week. I guess we’ll give him a fortnight in training to adjust to the group and what Smith wants before seeing him on the pitch though.
Only one direct flight (to Heathrow) tonight, and it’s delayed by 40 minutes.
Not that I’m bored or anything. ????
